ABOUT
Benefits of a Porcelain Kitchen Worktop
Porcelain is highly sought-after for many reasons, making it ideal for various kitchen elements including worktops, upstands, splashbacks, and waterfall islands. Here are some of its key benefits:
- Extensive Choice: Porcelain offers an impressive variety of colours and styles to suit any kitchen theme or layout. Available in different thicknesses (8mm-30mm) and finishes (ultra-glossy, matte, and textured), porcelain gives you the freedom to create your desired look.
- Non-Porous Qualities: Porcelain’s ultra-compact nature means it has almost zero porosity. This ensures fluids and bacteria cannot penetrate the surface, keeping your worktop hygienically clean and looking its best.
- Stain Resistant: The non-porous quality of porcelain also makes it highly resistant to tough stains from substances like red wine, curry sauce, and rich spices.
- Heat Resistant: Porcelain’s heatproof qualities make it ideal for busy kitchens. While we recommend using trivets or protective mats, it’s reassuring to know that hot dishes and pans won’t damage a porcelain worktop.
- Scratch and Impact Resistant: Known for its strength and durability, porcelain worktops are highly resistant to scratches and impacts, making them perfect for everyday use.
- Minimal Joints: Porcelain worktops are available in large slabs, providing visual continuity and reducing the need for joints, ideal for large worktop expanses or island units.

Options Available
Porcelain surfaces are available in a range of thicknesses:
- 8mm
- 12mm
- 20mm
- 30mm
You can choose from a variety of colours and finishes, including polished, matte, and textured options. The collection features everything from soft shades to intense colours, as well as marble-like veining and volcanic stone-inspired patterns.
Polished
Glossy with a smooth, shiny finish. Will typically bring out the characteristics and colours of the material.
Antique or Flamed
Matt with a rough, textured finish. May make colours and features of the stone less noticeable but gives a very natural appearance.
Satinato or Leathered
Almost matt, sometimes with a soft sheen and a light textured finish. A good alternative to antiqued or flamed where less texture is required.
Honed
Completely matt and fully smooth. Can make materials look lighter and colours more greyed out.
